I love incorporating salmon into our meal rotation. Salmon is so good for you and so delicious! It is easy to get tired of the same old baked salmon with olive oil and lemon juice, so this salmon recipe is a great way to mix up how you cook your salmon!
For years my husband would always veto salmon getting put on the weekly menu. He blames his dad, my father-in-law for burning him out on salmon in high school when he was on a salmon health kick. So, when I suggested this soy sauce honey glazed salmon bowls my husband didn’t shut me down and was open to trying it! Turns out, he loved it! This is a great healthy dinner option that is also super easy. It is made on a sheet pan and you can throw the broccoli right on the same pan!
This recipe is customizable with the toppings but I highly recommend my Spicy Cucumber Salad. This adds a perfect tang and crunch and goes perfectly with the salmon! I also added pickled red onions, spicy mayo, and avocado. Please let me know if you try this recipe out!
Side note: I am that crazy dog mom that saved the salmon skin from this recipe, sliced it, and baked it to make fresh salmon skin treats. My dog Artie LOVED it! Just google homemade salmon skin treats for dogs if you are a crazy dog mom like me!

Why You Should Make Sticky Salmon Bowls
Here’s what you’ll need:

Sticky Salmon Bowl Tips
- Cucumber – if you are making the spicy cucumber salad, prep it a few hours ahead of time so it has time to marinate!
- Sauce – if you want the sauce stickier and thicker, heat it in a sauce pan over medium heat for a few minutes before dumping it onto the salmon.

How To Make Sticky Salmon Bowls
- Rice. Get the rice going as this takes the longest. Cook your favorite rice per package directions, I used jasmine rice.
- Salmon. Next, prep the salmon. Drizzle a large sheet pan with olive oil. My salmon still had the skin on so I used a knife to remove the skin. Cut the salmon into bite-sized chunks and set straight onto prepared sheet pan. Sprinkle on garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. I added a pinch of cayenne for heat as well.
- Preheat. Preheat oven to Preheat oven to 450℉.
- Veg. Slice up broccoli florets and toss onto the sheet pan next to the salmon. Drizzle with more olive oil and salt and pepper. If making spicy cucumber salad go ahead and prep this now. If not just slice up the cucumbers.
- Bake! Bake sheet pan for 10-15 minutes depending on how you like your salmon.
- Sauce. While the salmon is baking prep the sauce. In a bowl mix all the sauce ingredients together well. Optional step: If you want the sauce to get thick and “sticky” I would put the sauce in a pan over medium heat for 3-4 minutes and stir constantly letting it thicken before pouring it over the salmon in the oven. If you don’t mind a thinner sauce, follow the step below.
- Sauce. After 10-15 mins I pulled out the sheet pan and removed the broccoli, it is done at this point! Pour the prepared sauce over the salmon and toss to coat. Pop back in the oven for 5 or so minutes.
- Assemble! Once salmon is done, remove from the oven. Build your bowl by starting with a base of jasmine rice, top with salmon bites, roasted broccoli, cucumber, pickled red onion, and avocado. Finish with a drizzle of spicy mayo and enjoy!
